Daschle Dialogues is the public component of the Thomas A. Daschle Congressional Research Study, which is committed to the care and preservation of Senator Tom Daschle’s papers from 26 years in public life.

Daschle, a 1969 SDSU graduate, served in Congress from 1979 to 2005. He was one of the longest-serving Senate Democratic Leaders in history and one of only two to serve twice as both Majority and Minority Leader. Daschle Dialogues is underwritten entirely by private gifts.

Senator Daschle’s son, Nathan, will represent his father at the October 27 event.

The Mike Huether Public Service Academy was established in 2024 to develop exceptional leaders empowered with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to embrace the responsibilities of citizenship and strengthen their communities at the local, regional and national levels. Mike Huether is a 1984 SDSU graduate. He served as Mayor of Sioux Falls from 2010 to 2018. The Public Service Academy is housed within the School of American and Global Studies.
