Don Linn

Development Director for the College of Natural Sciences

Don Linn joined the SDSU Foundation in February 2023 as a Development Director, working closely with the College of Natural Sciences. Growing up in an Air Force family, Don has lived around the world, but spent most of his childhood in the Washington, D.C., area. Don comes to the SDSU Foundation following a distinguished career in higher education as a band director and professor of music. He was faculty at the University of Oklahoma and Kansas State University, among others, and he has been fortunate enough to conduct in Carnegie Hall, attend the College Football Playoffs and BCS Bowls, and bring groups to numerous appearances in NCAA March Madness. He received his B.A. in music education from Virginia Tech, his M.M. in conducting from Ball State University, and his D.M.A. in conducting from the University of Oklahoma. Don resides in Aurora with his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Robinson (SDSU Music faculty), and their menagerie of pets, including two Airedale Terriers, Sophie and Olive, and an orange cat named Toby.
