Lawrence Johnson
Development Director for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social SciencesLawrence Johnson joined the SDSU Foundation in June 2019 as the Director of Development for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. A native of Pensacola, FL, Lawrence attended Long Beach State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and earned his Master of Science in College Student Personnel from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Prior to joining the Foundation, he spent 25 years in the advancement field, including assignments in New York, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. Most recently, he was the Vice President for University Development and Alumni Engagement at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA. Lawrence also spent 30 years in service to his country, retiring in 2015 as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve. Lawrence resides in Brookings with his wife, Jen, and children Shelby, Aidan and Sawyer.
