Georgalas Predicts the Best is Yet to Come
“The best years of our program are directly in front of us, and First Bank & Trust Arena helps us accomplish those dreams.”
Now that First Bank & Trust Arena has officially opened its doors, SDSU Volleyball will be the first team to host a game in the new space this Thursday.
Head Coach Dan Georgalas is counting down the hours.
The modernized facility heightens the experience of staff, students, and players alike, yet far more than just the look of the arena has been transformed.
The volleyball program moved into a four-office suite and shared conference room. Each assistant coach has their own office, with room for staff expansion. Kitchen spaces fuel holistic student nutrition.
“Everything is shiny and new, but I’m most excited for how easy it now is to spend time with our student-athletes,” said Georgalas.
The renovation will maximize recruitment appeal. When prospective Jackrabbits arrive, they’ll see the university’s commitment to compete at an elite level. First Bank & Trust Arena includes three volleyball courts for practice, allowing staff to train players like never before with more individualized coaching.
“The championship culture is palpable here at SDSU,” Georgalas said. “Our staff believes that our best teams are arriving to Brookings at the right time. We’ll use First Bank & Trust Arena as a competitive advantage and allow it to springboard us forward to the next set of goals.”
“It feels like our town has one heartbeat together, and I think that makes for a terrific experience,” he said. “The best years of our program are directly in front of us, and First Bank & Trust Arena helps us accomplish those dreams.”
