Please explain your career goals

My career goals involve obtaining a job that will adequately support my future family. I also want to have a career that will challenge me and push me to be a better engineer each and every day.

What motivates you to excel at SDSU?

My motivation to excel at SDSU partially comes from my goal to be on the dean's list every semester until graduation. I have obtained this goal for every semester so far. The rest of my motivation comes from the idea of supporting my possible family some day. I need to be the best student that I can be in my college years so that I can get a job after graduation that will allow me to comfortably support a family one day.

How does education help you reach your goals and aspirations?

My career goals and dreams in life involve becoming a successful engineer in order to support my family someday. I view education as a critical intermediate step that will get me to where I want to be in my career. Without a proper education, I would never be able to obtain the career that I want. I view my education as my primary source of knowledge that will get me to when I want to be someday.

How do scholarships impact your experience at SDSU and your future?

Scholarships are a huge part of my experience at SDSU. In fact, they are critical. Because I am an engineering student as well as a student-athlete, most of my time is dedicated first to my studies and second to practicing for my sport. Having scholarships allows me to keep funding myself through school without having to sacrifice my grades or quit my sport and get a job. Having scholarships allows me to do what I love and to do it well.
